The Agrifuture Conference Asia 2019 was opened by DLG e.V. - German Agricultural Society on 2 December in Bangkok. Different speakers, like Ms. Ebach from the German Embassy and Mr. Suwannarat, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture and cooperatives in Thailand, presented their views on the future development of Agriculture. Smart Agriculture seems to be a possible response to growing population and climate changes.

Johannes Buschmeier, Managing Director of AFC, contributed as speaker to the topic “Crucial factors for financing investments in agricultural machinery and the impact of subsidies”. This helped to bridge the requirement of using modern technology in the agricultural sector for sustainable production and how to motivate financial institutions to look deeper into the agricultural sector of today and tomorrow.

About 360 experts mainly from Asian countries participated in the conference. Practical demonstrations of various machinery providers took already place from 28-29 November 2019 in Myanmar.
