Joint German-Chinese Pilot Farm: First Farm Field day successfully held

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

The “Joint German-Chinese Pilot Farm in Ganhe” organized the first field demonstration day on 6 July 2010 in Ganhe, Inner Mongolia. The project, implemented by the consortium DLG/AFC, belongs to BMELV's Cooperative Programme.

More than 120 participants attended this event. Amongst them were visitors of both Ministries of Agriculture, from the German agricultural sector (CLAAS, LEMKEN, GRIMME, RAUCH, MONOSEM as participating companies in the project; BAYER, BASF as interested guests) and as well as Chinese dealers, institutes, media and state farms.

The trail fields with wheat, soybean, potato and maize provided the unique chance for the participants to share the Demo Farm’s experience and experimentation with different farming methods in terms of soil protection, fertilization, crop protection, etc. and to compare the results directly in the field. Furthermore, the German agricultural machinery manufacturersdemonstrated their products in action.

The first field day managed by Ganhe Demo Farm has strengthened the German-Chinese agricultural exchange and cooperation. The day was closed with a reception dinner including local dance performance. As the event was highly appreciated by numerous visitors, the next field day 2011 is planned. The next public presentation of this German-Chinese cooperation will be on August 29 – 31 at the agricultural fair in Harbin where participating companies present themselves under the project umbrella. Along with the fair, a seminar on innovative agricultural farming will be held. Please, see the invitation in Chinese language or invitation in English language.
